Description
This particular Luger is a Mauser G Date, Late Acceptance model with the serial number 8682d. The Mauser Late Acceptance model continued the previous model but with later acceptance stamps. It was manufactured by Mauser Werke, Oberndorf, and has a 4-inch (100mm) barrel chambered for 9mm Parabellum. The toggle is the new type of toggle with flat, checkered toggle knobs, and the toggle is marked S/42.
The frame of this particular Luger is the late, short type with a stock lug, wide trigger, and narrow trigger guard. The receiver is also the late, short type, with the chamber marked with a capital letter “G.” It has a thumb safety with a serrated safety lever, and the upper position is marked “GESICHERT.”
The Luger also features checkered walnut grips and a magazine with a tin-plated, wrap-around body and an aluminum base. The magazine is not numbered to the pistol.
